Ege University Bridges Medicine and Art with Groundbreaking
The competition evaluated artistic designs exploring the role of advanced technologies—such as artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, and machine learning—in endocrine surgery. By intersecting medicine, technology, and art, the event provided young designers a platform to showcase their creative visions.
First prize was awarded to Melisa Kıran, a student from Ege University’s Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education. Second prize went to Elif Nisa Soysal (Faculty of Communication, Radio, Television, and Cinema Department), while third prize was claimed by Aygül Özdemir (also from Fine Arts Education). An honorable mention was granted to Elif Azra Bayrak (Fine Arts Education).
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Özer Makay from the Faculty of Medicine remarked: "This competition uniquely blends endocrine surgery and technology through an artistic lens. I believe such an original and creative contest has never been held before. It’s inspiring to see how interdisciplinary collaborations yield invaluable outcomes."
